The LTM team are incredibly proud to present the latest and greatest instalment in the Leftfield Techno Memes catalogue - LTM002.

In a lot of ways, 2020 seems like a very odd time to release a dancefloor-orientated VA compilation. It's been the best part of a year since most of us set foot in a club, and whilst we all greatly miss the feeling of being rattled about by a big soundsystem, many budding producers have opted to swap the sound of pounding kick drums echoing through sweaty, densely-packed rooms for the relentless ticking of the Ableton metronome. Weirdly enough, 2020 has arguably been the best year for electronic releases we've had in decades - yet we've had no clubs to experience these tracks in.

Inspired by what we saw being released on Bandcamp Fridays throughout the year, we went about putting together our own VA back in July - and through it we managed to raise over £200 for mental health charities Mind and Papyrus. In the months since the release, we've been inundated with kind words about how much people enjoyed the mishmash of meme-fuelled genres and styles we put together. Not only that, but some of the producers involved enjoyed the project so much that they went about putting together follow-up tunes - despite us never setting a date for a sequel in stone. If it wasn't blatantly apparent by the name alone, LTM001 was never intended to be a one-off release, and as we drew towards the end of the year we realised that we were sitting on enough content for a second EP without even having to ask around for additional submissions. LTM002 was born - and is now out for the world to enjoy.

Whilst this is a smaller compilation than last time, this may in fact be a stronger release than the last. From Hampstead Heath's very own Donnay Soldier bringing us an emotional rollercoaster of an Elton John edit, to Bass Strait's take on Noel Fielding's iconic "Electro Boy" performance from The Mighty Boosh and even a vaporwave edit of grime anthem Next Hype from the enigmatic Pablo Moon, this is a complete project from start to finish. With the end of the pandemic in sight, we're really looking forward to experiencing these oddball tracks at peak time in a club - the environment for which they are unarguably best suited for.

As with last time, this is a charity release, and this time we are supporting Help Musicians. With so many creatives in the music industry currently out of work, this is a charity that needs our support more than ever. They support musicians with everything from mental health services to financial aid - so by buying this EP you're directly supporting the industry.

Massive thanks to everyone that has bought the compilation, or even just taken the time to read this message. We have big plans in the pipeline for the LTM brand, and we can't wait to share them with you soon.
